Mehndi in urdu / hindi or in Arabic known as "Henna" is a thick paste that is applied on skin and hairs to get color on skin like on hands, arms and feet, also it is used in many home remedies to color grey hairs naturally. The scientific name of henna plant is Lawsonia inermis. Henna or mehndi has different names in different regions of the world. Mehndi / henna is used as a temporary tattoo design on a body, or used as a natural hair color. The leaves of henna plant are crushed into powdered form and then by adding water a thick paste is formed, then this paste is mostly packed in cones or tubes that are used as an applicator for henna. 

Mehndi is applied on special occasions like weddings, other functions, special religious occasions celebarations and parties etc.
